Highlighters

Highlighting has become a permanent step in my everyday makeup routine, with minimal effort your face can go from dull and lifeless to glowing and fresh. The great thing about highlighter is that people don’t know it’s there, they only know that you look amazing! I apply highlight to my temples, cheekbones, brow bone and cupids bow. I also use it down the bridge of my nose. 

1. Powder Highlight-The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer

This is my latest addition to my set of highlighters. It is a golden, shimmery highlight and I like to apply it with the Real Techniques Blush Brush. A light hand is required when applying this particular highlight as it is very pigmented. If too much is used I just blend it with a cosmetic wedge which reduces the shimmer. This is my overall most used and favourite highlight, perfect for using on the temples and cheekbones! 

2. Cream Highlight-Gold By Giles Pleasure Highlight

This is my only cream highlight and I have to say, it’s my favourite for using on the bridge of my nose. However, when used anywhere else it moves the foundation and powder underneath, making it look quite cakey. I apply this straight from the stick, and then use a cosmetic wedge to blend it into the skin.

3. Pigment/Eyeshadow Highlight-MAC Frost Pigment

I love using MAC Frost Pigment to highlight my brow bone as it is so glittery. It is so hard to work with as a pigment eyeshadow on the lids as the glitter fallout is ridiculous! But it works great as a brow bone highlight! It wouldn’t be any good to use on the face because it would be too obvious that you’re wearing it. This would ruin the illusion of the glow looking natural. I apply this with the MAC 217 Brush.
