Hi Everyone!
I really love watching and reading about catwalk premiers, and don't really post about it on my blog, so I thought it would be a great insight for you people to see what I like and most importantly for you to get to know my taste in fashion.
So on saturday, I saw a post tweeted by fashion magazine canada about the new catwalk show by jean paul gaultier, who is one of my favorite designers at the moment. It showed his collection for 'fall 2013' so I was expecting the usual out there color schemes and hair cuts, but I was pleasantly surprised with his designs as they are things I would picture me wearing (if I could afford them ever).

So this was by far my favorite design. The model looks phenomenal. You can obviously see that Gaultier has found inspiration from the 1920's, and I can't stop looking at how they have styled this beautiful winter coat. The hair and makeup is very vintage 'marilyn monroe' and they haven't caked her in makeup, they have given her a great 'sophisticated' look. If I could afford it, I would wear it constantly because it looks so comfortable, I would style it similar to this.
Now this is the type of thing I was expecting, and I love it! I'm not quite sure about the dodgy mullet, this outfit is amazing. The dress/skirt is beautiful and would look great with a chunky knit on top, and the leather jacket is just stunning. I love read in autumn time and he's used it so well. It might not match everyone's taste, but in my opinion I think it's got a very unique and edgy vibe to it, I think we should all look out for high street copies later on this year.
This outfit reminds me so much of what I see whenever I go to Bath or London. Blazers are an on going trend, whether it's tweed or neon, they just never get old. Gaultier has again found inspiration from 1920's france and I love how he's gone with a clutch and chunky nautical jumper to in a way, flaunt his nationality and where he was brought up, the trends and vibes. I love the classic pointed heels and think this would be a great smart casual dinner party outfit.
This was one of the things I didn't really like in his show. Metallic is a very hard trend to work, sometimes you can look like a million dollars, but sometimes you end up looking like you've been wrapped in tin foil and I think this is one of those moments. Gaultier has also repeated his 'matchy matchy' vibe but it's just made it worse. I really wouldn't wear it and think it looks terrible on the model. If Gaultier went for maybe a darker colour like plum, it would look a lot better I think.
This is a more rebellious outfit, similar to the first outfit. But this has more of a 'cruella de vil' type look to it. I actually really like it, and think it would look great on anyone! I would probably wear it with olive peplum underneath, to make it look a bit more 'colorful'. I really like the boots as well, I'm currently looking for the perfect pair of boots, so feel free to tweet me (@AnnaBlogster) with your boots, or if you've seen any on the high street that you are lusting over. The model also wears a choker, I must say I quite like chokers because I think they give a very gothic look to an outfit.
